Default Winter projects?!?!?

OK, for most of us the chill of winter is here. What are you planning to do to your ride over the next months before spring?

Myself, I'll be adding a dual circuit master cyl, weld in a roll bar and add 3" 5pt harnesses (from the 2" that are there now). The car is quick, now it's time to make it safe.

C'mon let's get this 912 thread active again!!!

Happy Holidays!!

Brgds, Peter

I just sold a 69' 912 to a gent in upstate NY. Good car. A little too complete to be a racecar candidate. I believe he will restore it back to new-ish condition. Judging by the 68 he already had in his garage, he is capable!!

Good luck, it's very satisfying to 'kill giants' @ the track.

My 912 is currently at www.sports-car-restoration.com for its custom (simple) rollbar install. I'll post pics asap. My main focus is to imporve safety and keep wgt to a minimum by using 1.50" tube and as little as possible. Basic 5 bar set up - hoop/harness bar/runners and diagonal.

Anybody else? The season is coming!!

Show the pics as I will need a roll bar for my car after I finish the interior strip...

OK, here is the bar as of last week. It is finished and painted now, I'll be back down there tomorrow to take some more pics. Matt and Nate at SportsCar Restoration in Plainville, CT, have done a stellar job as usual. I decided to paint it dull aluminum 'silver'. When primered in black it just disappeared and after seeing some old school set ups in a few early cars that were infact bare aluminum. Yup, Aluminum roll bars!! great for wgt but I don't think I'd actually want to be protected by it.

She's coming together. I just need to make the rear quarter panels to compete the interior.
