Opinions of Portland craigslist car please
Hello, I saw this on Craigslist:
http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/car/416413397.html
From the photos and description does this look like a good deal? With the exception of the deck and door speakers this looks like a beautiful car. The engine has been redone. It's now 1750 CC.
If it is rust free would you consider it?
I'll be in Portland in a week or so and hope to see it if its still for sale.
Any opinions greatly appreciated!

I've received one email back from the seller(just a few lines).
When asked for additional pic's, info and possible PPI, everything went quiet.
I assume when someone tells you you're interested in buying a car they would be more eager to provide info.
Anyway, I would suggest to proceed with caution.
Best of luck.
thesamba also seems to have some good 912's available.....

guys relax, if that one is gone we've got that car's sister here in town for probebly no more than $1,500. 1967 912 right? wow, this one is red outside and black inside. search around the 911 posts for pictures. she is the ugly step sister.

That car is a dead ringer for mine except for those 85 series tires!! 1750 is a good thing. It means the cyl bore is 86mm up from 83.5mm. Mine is also 1720 (actually) with webers, cam, elec ignition, straight headers (no heat), some head work runs very well. When I finally need to replace the pistons, which maybe never, I'll go with higher compression in an effort to get more punch. Shasta 11.5 to 1 would be nice :-)

the only thing i dont like is that there are holes in the firewall for the speakers. IMHO horrible mistake. otherwise, if the car is rust free, its looks like it could be a good one.
