i have been working on a hot rod, i have a 1986 turbo, but have a g50 non turbo trans, is this a bomb waiting to go or should i keep searching for a turbo trans, or just find a 3.6 from a 993?

I had the NA G50 pushing 425hp, I used it hard, autocross drag racing weekly and DE track events. Super strong trans. The only issue I had was using the Kennedy HP 600 pressure plate. The clutch release fork ears broke in the bell housing. Patrick Motorsports reinforced the ears 15 years ago. no issues with the trans at all. I also had the ring and pinion changed out for 8;32 RP. Use the NA G50/01 with full confidence

No problem with that G50, it can take lots of power. There is a billet side cover to further increase strength if you feel you need it... I’ve seen well over 700whp with the g50 non turbo variant
