The last 930 link is about Robert Linton's 930. You can see more about his one of a kind America GS in the 964 forum sticky thread. I have seen both cars in person and they are quite unique and listening to Robert tell the story is an experience in itself making the cars more interesting than just looking at them. There are so many options on the car it is insane. If you hear him tell it, it doesn't matter who you are it is all about $$. The factory doesn't recognize a Robert Linton form a Jerry Seinfeld. He made it sound as though the response was Jerry who? As said his car started off as a simple special wishes leather dash option and somehow morphed into this creation. Porsche said they would never do another car like it and it took so much to get it completed it wasn't delivered in APril of 90 via air to some remote location. I don't think even the factory knows what it cost to build and was probably sold for less than it cost to build. Everything is covered in leather right down to the fuel filler flap. AFAIK the car only has 77 or so miles still to this day.

I met the owner of this one the other day. 9k original miles he said it was imported from France and is one of the last special turbo S cars. Had the same seats as the 959 that was also at the event. But if all these cars were black why is this one silver if all original? Is this one of the 21 other turbo S cars? He also said it had the upgraded 330hp engine not sure where the 385 comes from also has the oil cooler and larger IC. Robert's car had adjustable power settings IIRC and boasted as much as 580+ hp. Apparently there was some game playing to get it into the country since it was so heavily modded.

Sorry for the bad pictures but the 959 is a beauty. I tried to convince my wife to mortgage the house for this one. It was for sale about 4 years ago for $285k all original including the factory 959 Bosch hammer which I am sure is worth a fortune by itself.

Hmm!?! The silver 930 turbo may be an original 930 Turbo WLS, but I am to 100 % sure that it is not a "Sonauto Turbo S". For me it looks like a car from 1984 to maybe 1986?

Andreas
CofA was unlike any I had seen before. It did state it was an 89.

Jon, out of curiosity, what turbocharger was fitted to your 930/66s engine?

You're right Andreas : the 10 cars of the Sonauto series were black.

One of the 10 to sell in an Auction in Paris

http://www.4legend.com/2016/paris-20...10-exemplaires

930 S + RUF touch
Sorry to say ( just my opinion ) but identity of this car definitely altered by the "Ruf Touch" ! And by the way : car desciption only speaking about "Ruf logo" on various meters ( speed & rpm, fuel & Oil, turbo pressure boost meter ), Ruf steering Wheel, Ruf sticker in the engine bay (!) etc... Only "serious" thing ( trust everyone will agree that Ruf stickers will not make a special car of it ) seems to be the cockpit controllable turbo boost pressure Wheel. The 4 pot exhaust / tips do not seem Ruf to me ( neither seem to be OEM 930s exhaust parts ) ... rather stock 930 Turbo exhaust parts ?! Am I the only one to see the car like this or do others here share my opinion

I would have expected something seriously "different" starting from such an exceptionnal basis and moded by Ruf ( at least more HP ! )

Does somebody know for how much it sold ?!

Thank you

If I'm not mistaken :

Turbo 930/60 & 930/66 = KKK 3LDZ
Turbo 930/66 S = KKK K27/7006
Turbo 964 3.3 & 3.3S & 3.6 = KKK K27/7200
Turbo 964 S Leichtbau 964 & 3.6S & Flachbau 3.6S = KKK K27/8316

I fully aggre with you about the Ruf addons, this is why I use Ruf touch.
I would prefer they keep original.

For the exhaust it's a Ruf one, this perhaps could validate an action on the engine but there is not the Ruf intercooler????

For the price, I don't know.
