Iteresting pictures. I see normal production on the left. Is the one on the right in the "Special Wishes" area? It looks like both wide-bodies in that picture are virgin cars. I have seen other pictures of that same production worker, who is standing in front of the car, in other Porsche pictures.

Congratulations on your new book - mine arrived last week. I was very interested in the 930 information and was impressed with the details you included on the '80-89 model years (# options ordered, body types, etc.).
The information on '75-79 930's was not as detailed - was this due to lack of data from Porsche AG? Your book was much more than 930's, but I was very interested in the chassis numbers for the '75-79 model years as I've only seen one reference (Michael Cotton's 911 Turbo book) that starts the chassis numbers for these years at "0011" vs. "0001".
Congrats again on your new book.

When I picked up my brand new Diamond Blue Cabriolet from University Porsche in 1987, it was in the new car customer 'orientation' staging area parked next to a Diamond Blue Flatnose Turbo Coupe. At the time, I had no idea how rare that car actually was ....

The picture on the right side is taken at the Rössle-Bau, where the Flachbau cars were produced. You´ll find much more details in the book. The red car on your picture looks brilliant!!!

Thank you for the complement. It's an original paint early US non-sunroof '79. It is original in all aspects except for a front oil cooler. I have the original front valance and hardware but the front cooler works too well for now. Here's a couple of top-side pictures.
Rudolph and I are hoping Santa will bring us a copy of your new book.

thank you very much for the compliment!
You are right! Detailed informations are available from 1980 on!
There is no possibility to get the data from the years before 1980, I´m sorry,

Some news from www.berlinmotorbooks.de
From today on we ship the books to overseas with the level “prioritiy”.
We are not able to calculate the shipping times by “standard shipping”.
Some books reached Austalia in 5 days, others in 6 weeks.
We hope that the prioritiy shipping will reduce the shipping time extremely.
have a nice weekend,
Andreas

...ordered yesterday!
Seems It contains one info I havn't found anywhere else.
The production numbers are much more precise for the different
models + the book contains rhd production numbers too.
What I already found, total prodction numbers are different
from most other sources.

The de site is in German with no English translation yet. I might could get through it, but I would prefer the English ordering.
Any idea when it might be ready.

I had the same problem with the translation - until I found out Google Chrome provided page translation "on the fly" It allowed me to order my copy - which arrived about 10 days later to my doorstep.
You won't regret it - it's a wonderful book!!! As well, if you want a signed copy, apparently there is a "note" box (or "text box") on the German site where you make that request.. I missed it entirely, BUT - I suspect if you e-mailed or PMed Andreas, he'd probably figure out a way to get you set..??
Hope this helps!

...received mine today, great book!
What took my attention in detail is the statistic part.
I only took a look at pre 1989, up to 1979 its fine,
from 1980 to 1989 it is very detailed!
By far the most detailed production numbers I saw so far.
Just curios, far different from other books and web sources,
the VIN numbers do not start with ...001.
In 1980+81 they start with 011, in 82 -051, from 83 to 89
they start with 061.
The last VIN numbers for each year are quite similar with
other sources.
If this new book is correct, the total production numbers are
a lot lower as we thought before.

Hello Falk,
good that you received the book + you like it!
It also has the VIN´s of some of the most rare Turbos ever,
like 964 turbo convertible, 993 turbo convertible or the "package car".
On the last pages you find a text called "number, numbers, numbers"
by Norbert Franz, who is responsible for the statistics.
