I can't wait until the 935 clone is finished to see the final product. I like the way you want to create a vision into a real drivable car. I'm the same way without any money.
Seeing all of these beautiful women reminds me of a flight I had along time ago, as a new co-pilot, with a member of a famous Louisiana food and sauce company who just happened to be my captain on that flight. As we taxied out from the Miami Intl. airport, he handed me a minilla envelope and asked me to take a look at the pics inside and to tell him what I thought. We got backed up with takeoff traffic so unfortunately I had plenty of time to look at the pics. They were all 8x10 inch b&w and featured one woman. She had a mink stole on in every pic and that was all! One was of her standing infront of a fireplace with one foot on the floor and the other on the MANTLE! Another was on the sofa with one foot on the back and one on the floor. It got worse, if thats possible. Then just before we were number one to go, he asked me what I thought of them. I was so dumbstruck that I said I didn't know what to say. He said that it was his WIFE wearing her new Christmas mink stole! I learned never to make a comment on someone's lady pics!!!!!

Joe, thanks man - its really not THAT bad, I just know what I want and try not to buy the wrong parts etc. Its harder than it seems but its how I make the projects economical (if that's even possible). Mid November the body will be done!
Rudy, great story man - similar things have happened with people's girlfriends and wives...never make a comment until you hear who it is and the relation to them! Great one.

Since I finally decided that louvers are the way to go, here is a photo shop provided by Testarossa of how the satin paint will look.
I'm not going to settle for a greyish or lighter appearing black, it will be as pictured for the effect I want.
The wheels will be the 5 spoke also in satin black, they were left alone in the picture as to provide a reference and contrast to the paint.
Opinions are welcome, and again the body work will be done shortly.

Guns..
Looks like your project is really taking shape..it should make for a pretty hot ride.
- There should be no problem getting the satin finish as dark as want.
- Excellent choice in staying with the louvers..
- Regarding your wheels.. what-ever style you go with with the black finish, personally.. I would have the lips polished.. it'll make the whole car just "POP!" I used to really like this look on some of the 70's and 80's race cars.. seen mostly on Can-Am and IMSA cars.. Just think it would look really good on your car with the chosen look you have..
Just a thought..

onboost: Thank you for the compliments, its been a short but hard road. You're 100% correct, my only hesitation is that I don't want to fall into the 'ricer' catagory with the polished lips. Its a beautiful look, and I may end up doing it, but its a risky one at that due to the fact all the kids that shop at autozone polish the lips with blacked out rims. Sometimes the masses ruin the perfect look by association.
This subject will probably end up being a poll to gauge where the Porschephiles sit on the polished lips, but there just might be something to the whole dark image...

With the satin black finish, it looks like something out of Lockheed's Skunkworks.
To that end I think you should play off Ruf's CTR 'Yellowbird' and name your project 'Blackbird', just like the SR-71.

Edit top post to include my new found FACTORY ORIGINAL 935 CENTERLOCK HUBS & SPINDLES!!!!!!! They've been inspected and given the thumbs up for use on street & track.
This is one part of the car that will not be satin black, but left raw and unrestored (cosmetic battle scars WILL NOT be removed).

Gabe, I'm just reading an article on the 935 in the Sept. edition of 'Total 911' and they show all 3 versions of the 935 to have the same size wheels: f 16x10.5 r 19x15. This is on the 935/77 which was 2856cc
the 935/2.0 'Baby' of 1425cc, and the 935/78 'Moby Dick' of 3211cc. You should see if you can pick up that issue and the August one as well for parts 1 & 2 of this article.

I was gonna say stealth fighter but SR71 is indeed a closer call.
As for the wheels ... I'll tell you that I'd planned to change my all black RUF wheels to polished rims but the overwhelming response from everyone who's seen the car firsthand is to leave 'em alone. Even my wife and daughters who thought the car looked too scary evil at first have grown to love it as it is and don't want me to change the wheels and looking forward to my tinting the glass to darken it up too. LOL - go figure. Considering how much more aggressive yours is gonna look - all black wheels will definitely deliver the punctuation point!
Cheers!

Guns,
I was playing with the color of one of my 930 model. Gife me a week and I will have a 935 built. If you have good pics of the wheels you want I can build them.

CSquared2k that would be awesome!!!
1st pic is the wheels
2nd pic is the body work (minus holes in hood & hood pins, don't use the rear wing on the martini car either)
3rd & 4th pic is the wing setup I'm getting with a top wing element 70" wide (to match the width of the bodywork).
If you can do all of that I would be forever grateful. If you need anything else email me @ guns951@gmail.com
