The fun starts, getting all the undercoat off. The knotted wire brush seems to work best.

^omgjon thanks for posting. im interested to know if you are going for RSR type weight reduction? saw something in excellence, the '73 RSR had a 6.1lbs/hp..... the same as a 2017 Turbo S.

I will definitely try to lose some weight. I'm switching to aluminum rear trailing arms, lightweight wiring harness, aluminum hood and I'm always open to ideas.
My basics are braid wheels 9 and 11, michelin TB 15 tires, 930 brakes, Aase steel flares, fiberglass front and rear bumper and ductail. 110 liter center fill tank. Bilstein struts and shocks. Learning as I go!! I'm doing a Rothsport 3.5 with 350 HP.

Rothsport motors are magical.

Sounds like an awesome project.

One more day of grinding undercoat should do it then off to media blast. We burned up 3 Harbor Freight Grinders and went through six knotted wheel wire brushes. A few areas we torched.
