The only thing I didn't get done was the rings for coilovers. I somehow made rings with a 2" OD instead of a 2" ID. May just forgo that as it would be a mod way way down the line.....But Clint suggested I include it and I think he is right. I should have just bought his precut when I had the chance. If it keeps raining we'll get pushed into next week anyway.
BTW....all of this coil spring stuff is WAY NOT maintenance proof. You need to take all of this stuff apart regularly for cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting. Especially the fronts.

Russ, go to the Rebel S website. Clint has an RSR coilover sleeve that essentially goes over the top 7" of the strut and that ring holds it up there. It's included in his kit, but it requires welding. I was hoping to put the ring on now before the paint goes on so I didn't have to repaint them in the future should I decide to go coilover.
OK....Soda blasting is done. What a mess. Don't hit your nuckles 'cause OMG it hurts. Used the 15# HF unit with coarse baking soda. A few minutes after I was done it started raining so I hit them with a quick coat of primer and ran to the shed. I am very happy with today's progress. Was told it wouldn't work in the rain. It worked.
Was up at 3:00AM to deliver a load of stretch wrap to a customer then down to Long Beach airport to get my daughter and brand new grand daughter...Hence the mods ganged up on me and slightly altered my user name......So it time to play with the little bugger.

^ I see. Looks like he developed a pretty sweet solution to spring binding. Those sealed bearing spring hats look very nice. Much better than the original needle bearings.

Made a paint booth tonight out of a sheet of plywood, a couple 2x4's, screws, hinges, a couple hooks, and a miniature heater/fan. Put the parts in for an hour to come up to temp then started in on painting. So far so good. Will hit them again tonight then a couple more times tomorrow and see where we are at. Heater is set very low......Maybe 80° or 90° in the box.
Box is four 24" x 36" and two 24" x 24"....genious
Crap, I forget to tape the wiper seal recesses.

Doug, you are a maniac! You remind me of the Anthony Hopkins character in "The Last Indian". Hey I have an idea, throw some gold metallic paint on them so they look like Ohlins. And then we can really anger the smarty-pants types, eh?

Reassembly is going along uneventfully other than the paint is chipping nicely here and there......And I am in a panic thinking that I've gone the wrong direction with the camber.
Also need about 4 more 10mm spacers and there is about 1mm between the inner wheel weights and the lower balljoint nuts.

Best I can tell is that I've got 2.2° neg camber driver's side and 2.1° neg camber passenger side.
For some reason I was thinking backwards on the steering and with the last 20 minutes I had I cocked the wheel even further to the right while thinking I was going to be centering it. need to go about two revolutions of the tie rod on both sides to center everything up.

Almost forgot to show you guys how close 26mm gets you to the weights. Yikes...Maybe 2-3mm clearance.
Do I set camber then toe or toe then camber? When do I set ride height? . Man I spit in the face of the professionals.
Stupid me re-indexed the bars and the poor thing looked like it had Highjackers. Put them back and it was almost perfect. At 26mm you don't need to change the bars.
