Let's see...you got coil springs and still have the factory torsion bars too. Might as well throw on some leaf springs while you're in there. Why not LOL

Sounds like a trip to Pick a Part is in my future.

You guys want to guess what the next big project is going to be? Yep, I'm going to add negative camber to and raise my front spindles. No, not to the strut plates....to the spindles themselves. There will be hell toupee.

Since the smog shop already thinks you have a turbo, why not make it true? LOL

Twin plug, Grasshopper, then turbo.

No, there are a thousand other things to do first. I want aluminum bumper shocks, roll bar, and I even want to do rear bearings just because. Also want to drop the motor and put in a light weight flywheel, new slave cylinder and high torque/lightweight starter. Also gotta do the light weight battery at some point. Having all the parasites away at school has freed up both time and money.

Decided to make my jig this evening to de-camber my Bilstein struts. At some point soon I'll be raising my spindles 24mm and removing 1-1/2 degrees of camber from them while I'm at it. This jig will help insure that the angle is identical on both sides of the car. Ya, this is one of them projects that the pros are really tight lipped about, but if they can do it, guess what, I can do it.

Used my stock brake backing plates that were discarded when I went to 930 brakes to determine hole size and position. Will mount a strut to the plate and get it plum and true to the mill head, then set the angle, mark the spindle location with spray paint, then take it apart and mount just the spindle back onto the jig. Already said enough to expect nasty PM's so we'll hold off telling more for now.

It will also get an Elephant race bumpsteer kit and maybe shortened a bit while I'm at it.

Finally got the Heim joints (monoball tierod ends) on order with Rebel S Racing. Clint is awesome to work with. Also ordered are the gussets and the lower double shear brackets that Clint makes out of chromoly.

http://www.rebelracingproducts.com/S.../Steering.html

Very cool of Clint to give me a heads up on the size of end mill to use (3/4") to cut the weld and to also grind off the little bit of extra metal on the lower clamp on the strut before I get the spindle stuck on it. Letting loose with THAT kind of info didn't kill anyone and makes the entire experience better for all involved.

It came to something like $115 and we did the entire deal while I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the 10/15 freeway interchange.

Another cool deal with Rebel S is that they are now using Faulkner springs on the 934.5 style coilover kits they sell. They listened to guys like me that were simply "adding coilovers" and "leaving in the T-bars". Back when I did my first iteration Clint sold me 150# Eibach springs....great if you are looking for a bumpstop/swaybar but way too heavy to run as an add-on to stock T-bars....The solution I found was to add to the stack an 80# spring from Faulkner and at the same time I added a 4# helper spring for slack. The result in an almost perfect 29mm T-bar that balances well with my 21mm T-bars in the front.
