Default Potential buy, need advice. 1976 Slantnose

There is a 1976 911 Targa Slantnose a few blocks from me. Been sitting outside for a while, hail storm hit and it ripped the top and the rear window is junk. It needs a paint job, but I am a painter so I don't need all the numbers for that. The guy says it started smoking when he stopped driving it, it has 109,000 miles. Both original wheels and another set of wheels with brand new tires are included.

Different kind of slantnose kit than I am used to though. It doesn't have the lights that flip up from the fenders, the marker lights and the reflectors in the bumpers are converted to be headlights. Interior is very nice, new gauges and leather seats. 5-speed manual and he says it has 277 horsepower. I can handle the project, but I don't want to get jipped on the price.

He he is asking $7,000. What should I think about it?

I only snapped one picture of it

$7k for a roller? Seems fair. Worth a lot more with some effort, which is more than current owner is going to give....haggle anyways

930 or 911 vin? Either way sounds like it has a turbo engine in it and the vents on the decklid seem to confirm. Would be a decent price of it was just a 76 911 but sounds like it has more going on and could be a steal. Doesn't sound like you will get ripped off, especially as a paint and body guy. I will post before and after pictures of my 74 when I get to a computer.

The vin is a base 911. Makes sense to be a base model because of all the work put into the wide body and slant nose on the front. We know it is not a turbo for sure.
