Trade GT4 for air cooled
I'm thinking about parting ways with my GT4 and trying out the air-cooled era.
My GT4 has 1,200 miles, 103K sticker+ carbon interior upgrades + clear bra + paint correction+ c-quartz. LWB, PCCB, etc. I'm asking 108K.
Air cooled- interested in 84-89 Carrera 3.2, preferably w/ the m491 wide body option.
PM me if you have something interesting and want to trade it, + $$, toward the GT4. I have more pics available.
Thanks

Why trade the GT4? It will be a monster in value especially if they con't do another normally aspirated one. BTW, great picture! How does the interior look?

I have auto-ADD bad. I only kept my GT3 for 3-4 months as well, my wife thinks I'm crazy. I agree with you on their value. I should have kept my RS- that's my only regret so far. Here are a couple of interior pics.

Until your Auto ADD kicks in again! (From a fellow victim of same.)

Based on how long you keep your cars I think an air cooled car will frustrate you. These cars are an investment in time and effort to keep them great. Finding a perfect one if that's what you're looking for is going to be a big spend. Not much off your current car value. A 50k g body will need some things. And a long hood .... you'll be adding $ for a great one.
If you're looking for the feeling of your rs.... get an996 or 997 gt3. None of these cars will replicate that feeling. I've nearly got one of each and they are all very different. In fact my 964 hot rod is closest.

Thanks for the feedback and definitely something to consider. I'm not really looking for the 'performance' aspect in a next car per se. I have my track car and have been spending a fair bit of time with it so it scratches that itch. I'm looking for something more unique for my weekender. I'm second guessing my decision now, more due diligence may be needed on my part..... like actually driving a couple of models.

the GT4 is an amazing car , i know lots of guys who have traded their 997s 991s in to get in line for one. As you correctly point out its in a wole different tax bracket to our cars ( well excpet for maybe a relly nice long hood . )
But most guys here know there cars are iconic and represent a time gone by that can never be recreated. If they part with theres its not like they can crank up the assembly line and get another.
Getting guys to part with these icons can be tough as there is always a lot of "personal investment" .
Good luck with whatever you decide.

As much as I love air-cooled 911s, there is no way I would trade in that GT4... That car is very special. However, that is just me...
The GT4 is my "almost practical" dream car. Yeah, a GT3 RS would be nice, but that is just too far out of range, the GT4 on the other hand, I can dream about...
In your shoes, I would try and think of other ways to get into an air cooled (dispose of other assets?) & put it off a few years to get the funds. Of course, they may have appreciated more by then, but so will your GT4 in all likelihood.

I need a bigger garage and that would really solve a lot of problems. The GT4 is a great car- no doubt. It may be another one of mine that I regret selling. I definitely should have never sold the RS.
With that said, I have a 'sale pending'.
