Single data point for you. I am a bad source - I have a 2015 VW TDI Sportwagen. But here is my experience with one old high mileage 911.
I bought Peter Zimmermann's 911 SC with 204,000 miles on it in 2014. It now has 212,000 miles on it. $22k. Came with COA, original numbers. Had Sport Seats for a middle in it - the seats need new cushions. Had a respray 10 or 12 years ago.
I bought new tires (car came with tires that had good tread but were a little old), have changed oil three times, have replaced two CV joints, did shifter bushings, changed gear oil and am about to do a brake job.
The car has no AC (makes it hard in summer in NC for my wife), I backdated heat and don't miss the blower at all, and spent some money on stuff that was just done because I wanted to. I didn't like sugar scoops so I changed the headlights to H4s. Changed the wheel and shifter. All the original parts have been retained.
The maintenance record starts at 1999 when Peter bought the car. The record consists of a spread sheet with everything he did to the car during his ownership. Typical upgrades - turbo tie rods, tensioners, lowered, etc. No known splitting of the case or major work.
I drive it as much as I can with GOTHINGNC and other air cooled cars in central NC.
I spent over $1000 chasing Carreras, preferably with G50s. Every car I looked at had issues. People here recommended Peter's car, despite the mileage. I felt better buying Peter's car than any of the other cars I considered at the time.
I guess my point is don't become too closed minded during your search. Most people here probably think I am nuts, but I bought the car to drive it and it has been worth every penny. It is a GUILT FREE driver. I have a cherry 1992 E30 Cabrio for my wife and the VW for our dog. The high mileage SC has worked for me.
Good luck with your search.

NCDCSam, great response as it drives at what I'm looking for - a daily driver that might need a few things here or there but I won't have to worry about driving (which is what these are for, right?) This one looks well kept and the owner is a true class act and enthusiast (but has overvalued the car) Great pic of a well loved 911.
