Muffler for SSIs
Never thought I'd be posting this as my car was 100 % original. But on my rebuild I went 964 cam grind and now SSIs kinda fell in my lap
I'm going to try and get a used muffler. I know there is a popular one that is a two in one out.
The name slips my mind tho

Dansk !! that's the one I was thinking of , I see a lot of guys run it and it seems to be quite popular with the guys here so ill keep my eye out for a used one . I just hope its not too obnoxious. I already drive a classic Porsche I don't need to be " that guy"

Dansk is about the cheapest IIRC.
M&K may be the lightest
I am happy with my $600 monty, but they are now about $1,200.
A well-designed aftermarket muffler will add sound and not decrease hp. If you find one that really does increase hp (on an engine dyno, with a statistically valid test methodology), then put it on your wall and frame it.
If you want to read about an attempt to create the lightest possible muffler, then read the GS America thread, pinned in the 964 forum.

Light mufflers oftentimes make less power than OEM.
A GOOD sport muffler makes more power across the RPM range than stocks, but will make more noise. Our engine dyno cannot lie.
More noise doesn't equal more power.

Do any aftermarket mufflers provide performance improvements or do you need to add headers or SSI for HP gains?

As Steve mentioned, the key really is the SSI's. When traded out the stock system to the SSI's with the Dansk Sport muffler, the difference was very noticeable. Getting weight off the backend was a bonus as well.
