Default Polish for Fuchs

I recently purchased a one-owner '87 911 that is in great shape - cosmetically and mechanically. I had it recently detailed by the outer sections of the Fuchs wheels are still dull and have some stains. Can anyone recommend a polish that I can use to clean them up? Thanks....

Vaseline petroleum jelly as per the owner's hand book.

Check out adamspolishes.com there is a whole section on wheel care. Excellent products.

abrasives will eventually destroy the anodized layer

if you cannot stick to the factory's recommendation of petroleum jelly, then try Johnson's wax

1 or 2 places in Calif. can re-anodize them if the detailer destroyed the anodizing (I would not let any detailer near my wheels unless I knew for certain they understood the anodized nature of the wheels)

Yeah the point is they are anodized not polished. A muted look is okay as opposed to highly polished

I used Meguiar's Cleaner Wax on both the painted and anodized surfaces on my '88's fuchs. It took away the chalkiness on both surfaces.

r911 and the iceman both have good points about the anodized surface. It is not like a polished surface, it is more subdued.

I may have used the wrong word when I said "polish" when I started this thread. The term "chalkiness" that The Brewmeister used is more descriptive of what I am trying to get rid of.

I've used brass wool on mine. Then the petroleum jelly.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I ended up following the recommendation of most people as well as what's in the 911 Owners Manual and used Vaseline. Worked like a charm. The attached photo shows the cleaned wheel with a small section of the wheel that I did not clean....huge difference!
