Long Trip (6 days) - 991.1 Turbo S
Hi guys, long time since last post, but I wanted to give a bit stats from my 6 day / 3875 mile trip through the South/West of USA.
Car performed flawless (of course)
Again I'm so happy for the car having enough space for my camera, camping gear, luggage and still not feeling cramped.
What really surprised me was the mileage I managed. Keep in mind I was not nursing it, or trying to be economical (hitting speeds near 100 mph - following traffic (yeah I was passed by 1/2 of the traffic at this speed ...). After the trip was out, I clocked in at 25.2 mpg average for 3875 miles ... high score was 540 miles on one tank (~32.8 mpg) averaging 85 mph.
Still 0 regrets going with the TS vs the 458/650/Gallardo/R8. Only drawing attention to people knowing what car it is ... and capable of it all, not even heavy rain slowed me down, and no sign of hydro planing at all.
At the same time I found my new favorite scenic road in the US ... 95/24 between Natural Bridges National Park (UT) and Loa (UT). 4h of constant ooo's and aaa's and multitude of stops taking pictures and inhaling the scenery. (Highly recommended).
Even at altitudes over 10k feet the car performed flawless, and I did not notice any impact on power or mileage.
One thing I did notice though ... and this might be an issue with my local/CA gas stations ... car felt more spiffy and much better mileage than I get in CA. Perhaps CA is cheating on the 91? (and charging $1/gallon).
Result : 8 new National Parks/Monuments, 0 tickets, 3875 miles, 25.2 mpg, 6 days, 1511 pictures, 0 accidents, 1 severe thunder storm, another chunk of US down (finally completed my visit to 59 largest cities (Corpus Christie you're next then I'm at top 80 - 32 of 59 Nat'l parks down ... still a lot more to visit ... more miles and 1/2 of route 66 down .. my mission of hitting top 100 cities, all nat'l parks continue ... perhaps with 992 Turbo S in 5 years

I believe we pay extra for the ethanol additives mandated by the state which ethanol also reduces gas milage and which is also not good for our older air-cooled cars.
