Not yet. I'm bringing it home tonight & changing the oil tomorrow. Original owner had fully synthetic 5w30 in it. I bought Brad Penn 20w50 & a new OEM filter for it. I'm siphoning out the gas & filling it with brand new gas also.
After I put the correct oil & new gas in it I'll try to start it.

Grab yourself a 22mm hex drive, drain that stale gas all the way out, replace that fuel tank filter/screen/drain plug, and o-ring while you're at. Or just keep it in mind for the near future. Do that along with a new fuel filter as well.
Congrats, btw. I too just found myself a very similar deal and situation a couple months ago. Be very grateful, these things don't happen often with a car like this.

I've read 8qts cold & then drive it will warm & pour another quart & a half in. Does this sound right?
Thankfully my dad has just about every tool known to man. Already know I have one of those. I'm very familiar with my 951 & order parts from various sites. I'm guessing pelican is my best bet for the 911?
I'm extremely grateful of this situation. The owner knows how much its worth.. Its just that he can't drive it & was amazed that someone as young as I was knew so much about it & wanted it so badly. He took my first offer I threw out & I didn't want to haggle him after that.

I might hold off on the Brad Penn for your 2nd oil change - you could put Rotella or another much less spendy high zddp oil in there, run it 500 or 1k miles, then go to Brad Penn and run it for a full year or 5,000 miles.
I'd similarly shorten the change intervals on the trans. lube.
The most critical thing is to replace the old brake hoses with new rubber ones, replace the old fluid and check the entire system over carefully before driving.
Have fun!

Looks great! Did this car have receipts going back to Day One? Otherwise, you never know what happened when the original 85 MPH speedo got changed out, thus original miles. (Though given the white gauge face conversion, the original speedo could have just been recalibrated. I never did one that way.)

Great purchase! The headlights have also been converted to Bosch H4's. The engine sound pad has disintegrated also. It looks like there's just a small remaining piece drooping down on the left hand side

Could you post a photo of what I'm missing?

you can replace the sound pad when the motor is out, or just drop it down somewhat if you are adept at your yoga positions
IIRC, these cars came with the fugly sugar scoops - thank the PO for getting rid of them
you'll want to buy a Bentley manual for the car, and download the PET form Porsche's web site

Also stated, this is your life saver, I was completely new to the 911 sc prior to picking mine up. I feel like I know the car inside and out, as I have studied this PET whilst replacing things here and there over the past couple months. The Catalog says 83 atop, however, it is for the SC. Part to Year differences are shown in the 'Remarks' column.

What an AMAZING find btw, car is gorg. Luckily your P/O garaged it. Mine is in immaculate condition also, aside from the sun-stripped clear coat lol.
