I want to thank Griffiths and others for the recommendations. I took the car to automobile associates in Canton, CT. As I hoped, everything is functional but it needed to be converted to R134a. So, a cleanout, new receiver – dryer, a few O-rings and we are back in business.

34° vent temperatures are almost unbelievable with a 30-year-old system. Thank you to automobile associates for making it happen.

I think most would agree that with the conversion to R-134a you probably need to add a binary pressure switch.
