I must confess, I took her through one today!
I must say for a Targa, he (Yosemite Sam) took on only the most minor form on dripping down the front windows / basically negligible and it did the overall job. It's my local joint that I trust and bring my $90k BMW through as well. Only thing that stays out is my '13 Masi GTS coupe. Too low profile, etc.

Here's mine: living in CA I seldom wash the car. Wipe it down after a drive with a very thick and plush (thanks Mooty) MF towel and Griots speed shine (fantastic stuff).

Wash every now and again with wheels off to get the undercarriage clean.

Keeping in mind it never gets driven in the wet.

I also do the post drive wipe down but use a Cali duster as an intermediate step. I think I washed the car three times last year.

I do the wipe down with MF and Meguiar's Quick Mist and Wipe Detailer, after drives, in between the hand wash

No, but that's a good one as well, probably best around. It's the one in Hawthorne, next to Mobile.

haha, don't be so biased! It's a brushless wash and all tracks are covered by plastic guard to prevent wheel rash. Although that's of not concern or possibility, given the 50 / 55 high profile tires. That's SUV territory today. lol
My actually biggest gripe in the past, was getting road rash from carwashes w/ low profile tire/ rim setup.

I've done the "wipe down" as well. Just needed a wash on the fly in a pinch and went for it. I'll actually do it again when in another pinch, were no issues at all.

After washing her in the driveway, initial towel down, then when she is still damp, spray on Miguairs Qiuck shine, then final dry. Leaves no water spots.

not so much .. most of the coin went into this engine rebuild , then for sure she will need a good wash .. it hasn't seen the outside for two years.

Have you ever used Meg's Wash and Wax Anywhere? It's like Windexing your entire car. Some detailers are insane OCD, but you can wash the entire car in 10 mins. like this. Once you go there, you will never hose down a car again.
Also, have you ever done a basic polish with hand pads? That is a nice way to get rid of oxy, and you can do the entire car in 15 mins.

ok, here's a tip - a random orbit machine will do a better job than hand application

BUT, you do not need to go spend a lot of $$ for a special right angle random orbit machine if you already own an inexpensive random orbit sander

I checked with Porter-Cable before actually doing this and this thing works just as well (except for fatigue if you do 20 cars a day from holding it)
