fuel delivery problem? or..
'86 3.2 coupe bone stock..
After sitting for a week, she required a lot of cranking before firing up. After that the car pulled strong and and restarted as necessary.
Yesterday, it started right up, ran fine and restarted as normal.
Today, started after a long crank, stalled out once and then quit down the street. After sitting and cranking for about it started ran fine back to my garage where it idled normally for a few minutes before I shut it off.
Almost like a bad fuel filter except it's cause issues when the engine is cold.
DME relay basically new.
Ideas/inputs appreciated.

Sounds similar to a problem my original DME has. It often took forever to start up. I swapped in a "loaner" DME and the engine was back to firing in a split second. Leads me to believe its got a bad soldering joint or a somewhat faulty component on the mother board.
I also had the DME relay go bad on me once.....had a spare in the glove box.

It also sounds like your fuel pump may be on it's way out...
Try checking to see if you are getting 12v to it when you are experiencing no-start issues. I'm sure others have better input and advice, as I am very new to these cars. However, this was the first problem that I had to address when I picked the car up a month ago at it would not start.. definitely worth checking out IMO.

Fuel pump check valve.
When they go bad, long cranking time ensue.
Naturally, if yours is a high-mileage car, I would be checking fuel pressure, delivery rate, and current draw.

Very easy DIY. Pull the skid plate under the front cross-member and the pump and check valve are right there. Good time to clean up the area and make sure the fuel pump wires are clean.

Turns out I had a DME
Relay that lasted about 200
miles
Thought I had it figured out and went out to fill up with fresh fuel.
After being stranded at the pump for a half hour, I decided to install my spare DME relay,
New relay failure mode to me
Runs strong as ever

New DME relays are many times not much better than the ones they replace. For that reason, we resolder each and every new one we use just to prevent such issues.
