Same picture used on a CL ad down here in FL, says: "1983 Porsche 911 low mileage - $14211 - Clean carfax. No accidents, no stories, no weird noises or leaks. Original paint and interior, all numbers matching. Recently had tune up; water pump and timing done; a/c recharged. Mileage will go up slightly, it is still since the weather is nice."

I knew it was a good deal especially since the water pump and timing belt were recently done.

Believe it or not this one is for real. I know the seller, he's a real standup guy. He also informed me of a distant relative of mine who died and left me 6,599,000 US dollars in his will. I paid the 10% legal fee and the check is in the mail. So have no worries.

It could be the rarest of them all. 1 of 1 narrow bodied 930, newly replaced water pump and timing belt and it looks like it has interior lighting package for the rear compartment. I'm gonna look after this at Velocity Channel and find out what's the car worth.

The water pump cools the air which then facilitates the air-cooled turbo engine....
I'm sure the seller was thinking the $14,251 was in 1983 dollars, and meant to bring that value forward to 2016 dollars which is $34,536. So, based on that price - maybe not such a good deal after all.

I saw it listed next to me in Akron. Have been in contact with the seller. Turns out her father bought it and died and she can't drive a stick so she just wants to sell it. She just needs my name, address, etc and she will set up an eBay escrow account I can transfer the money to, and then they will hold the money until they deliver the car and I have 5 days to inspect the car before eBay escrow will release the money to her.

Since the car was local I offered to turn up with cash. Turns out she just moved to Indiana and the car is in a warehouse there.

Why do these stupid scammers always say eBay escrow, there is no eBay escrow.

hey, I'm first in line. She dropped the prioce to 14,000 which I thouch was way too much for an 83 SC so I countered at 12,000. Still waiting for a response. She said she was busy and would only be able to check her email once or twice a day. Fingers crossed I get it.

I bet the wait after I give her the money until I see the car will seem like forever.

A Targa with Power Glass Moonroof has always been a favorite of mine.
