Interesting. Do you know which shaft and which bearing ? I have my gear box it bits doing synchros dogs and brake bands.

Iceman- I spoke to soon, turns out it the bearings were/are good from the previous rebuild in the early 90's. Mechanic said that the synchro's and bands needed to be replaced for gears 1-3 I believe.


Impressive that you have yours apart! I rebuilt a motorcycle transmission once (it worked but I did not manage to fix the problem). I don't have the time or the space for such an undertaking... best of luck to you!
