G50 transmissions?
Is there any difference of the G50 over the years?
Im considering building an E class race car.
I can go 3.0L euro with the 915, or go with a 3.2L with a 915 or G50.
Im currently looking for 3.2L and G50.

To remain in E you have to use the US g50/01 and run as a US '87-89 Carrera
or if you have an '84-86 you must use the stock 915/68, 79 or 73 and run as a US '84-86 Carrera
The euro versions w/ euro trans will be in F.
If you were going to F a g50/02 was used on Swiss 911 and has an attractive gear stack as does the RoW g50/00. Which to use depends on what you need for 2, 3, 4 the /00 is shorter and the /02 taller

Would you be buying another car or building the one you just acquired? The performance gains of converting your existing racecar to g50 just aren't there. We can outfit your 915 gearbox with 930 dog teeth and still be totally legal. It's a lighter gearbox and has less driveline loss. Properly driven there's virtually no speed difference between the shifting on the two on track.

the SC 3.0L with 915 served me well, but i did have to look for 2nd a few times.
Given the rare availability of 87-89 Carreras and price points and think i will have to stick with the 3.0L SC's!

You'll learn the 915 better with more seat time.
Here's a tub with provenance to boot. You'd obviously have to reskin it.

W/ a 915 bushes and connector are critical. I had custonm zero clearance bushes made for mine but I hear the 914 versions work as well, Wevo and Stomske have great connectors, don't forget to replace the pinch clamp too, the ones get old and lose grip w/ time and use.
Lots of good feed back on Wevo shifters too.
