Default long nose brake options?

Lets talks brakes.

My 1969 project is going to need brakes.
I will be running 15" Fuchs.

What are my options for brakes?
will 930 brakes fit?

930 brakes are the biggest ones that fit inside 15" wheels.

Its not a literal bolt-on, but its quite possible as we've been doing this since 1978.

As Steve said 15s, They will all be very tight radially but they do fit and clear stick on weights,

In front 7 on a n/b will have axial interference w/ the fins, a small spacer or machining of the fins will be needed unless you are going w/ 930 fenders where the 21mm spacer will be used solving that issue.

in back the caliper needs to be machined to fit 911 trailing arms, if using 930 arms it's a bolt on. 8 & 9 work fine

If using 6's don't bother.

Unless you've got way more motor than any of the stock installations from '69 930 brakes aren't at all needed.

My 1969 will have stock front and rear fenders. 15X6 Fuchs.

forget 930 brakes
The weak link is the amount of grip that the tires can transfer to the pavement

plus the light weight and relatively low hp in that chassis

I'd just be sure to use Bilstein 3.5" struts from a 930 or Carrera w/ S or A front and M rears on 20mm rotors, A +1 if you feel it's necessary is to swap in 3.2Carrera 24mm front rotors and matching wide A calipers.

I'm going to go Nuke on this issue.

Light, low HP cars do not need huge brakes... as pointed out, big brakes do not create stopping power... tires do that.

Brakes convert kinetic energy ("momentum") into heat. Heavy, high HP cars create lots of kinetic energy, and need huge brakes to bleed off that heat.

Big brakes on a small, light car just create unsprung weight, cost, and touchy brakes.

As always, thanks for the knowledge!

I hear you loud and clear.
930 brakes not needed.

I'd look for some A fronts w/ the stock M rears. Stick w/ stock rotors.

You will need 3.5' struts, Bilstein hd are arguably the best choice there.
