Yes and yes. Even a new WEVO coupler and new clutch cable. No perfuming this one, unfortunately it looks like it has to get cracked open and solved.

When I picked up my SC it had 215K on it but ran great, never opened, and no idea what had been done to the tranny.
On my PPI we found 2 dog teeth when the T oil was changed...but the guys said it really shifted smoothly and I'd noted that myself.
On later oil changes I'd still find a tooth now and again.
It always shifted pretty nicely....like your would balk on 1st now and again at stop lights (pita) but generally was ok.
One day it just would not go into second gear even tho I'd never had any trouble with second gear.
When we did the rebuild half the dog teeth of 2nd were gone....and I'd never had trouble with 2nd gear?? (other items replaced too)
If you are having that kind of issue it's really hard to pinpoint the exact problem.
Just drive it but save up or whatever.
My refresh cost 2500 about 18 months ago at a great indy shop in Phoenix and the box is sweet now.

Can you give me the name of the Indy shop that did your work? I'm in Tucson and looking. Anyone else have any ideas about Tucson shops?
TIA

The best indy shop by far in Phoenix is Stuttgart SW...fair/honest/not looking to soak you...as are some shops that only want major items to do (Patricks)....ask around.
Call Jack 480 968 6764 and anyone else referred and you make the decision.
Jack has been doing this for over 40 years with aircooled Porsche's...tell him Pat from Wickenburg referred you.
He and his guys are fantastic, quick (they had my tranny and car less than a week from start/finish) and he has a reputation of stark honesty.
He'll do the most minor work and the high end rebuilds....also has a separate body shop next door.
He is busy so call ahead.

Very disappointed in my dealings with Patrick Motorsports. They need to get more knowledgeable people to prepare quotations. I asked for a SC3.0 to 3.2 short stroke conversion and each time there were serious errors in parts offered and generally clueless on performance engines - I did ask him to put me in touch with an engine specialist but he said "he is the man".

I think they have gotten to be too big for their own good and perhaps better as a parts distributor.

I'm not sure Patrick Motorsports is the first one I'd think of or contact for engine build components. But, I've had no experience with them.

That would be a sin for an Oregonian.

I wouldn't ever consider Patrick for an engine. But they can do a 915 in their sleep.

oh, that's common with most auto shops.
i have them put in writing 5% variance.
there's always risk in ESTIMATES.
we have an accounting line in our business just for that'. if i get ESTIMATE wrong, i eat it. but auto industry seems to be different....

If you're afraid to put it into first, then your gearbox has issues.
There is 0% chance it was like this from the factory.
