Porsche Art Car Project in San Francisco
Hey Guys,
I wanted to share a project that I have been working on. My friend Jonathan Matas painted this one of a kind Porsche 911 Carrera S for a collector. I'm a huge fan of Jonathan's work and he's becoming more and more influential as an artist in San Francisco and Silicon Valley over the past few years-- he's done works ranging from murals in the Mission to the cover of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's laptop.
If you're interested you can see more info about the car at http://www.matas911.com or his work http://www.jonathanmatas.com
Best,
Sam

It definitely is an art car. I prefer the BMW art cars. With the dripping paint and splotches on this 911, at a quick glance it could look like vandalism. You have to take a close look to appreciate the art. Maybe I am old fashioned, I like art that immediately portrays the skill of the artist and evokes a positive emotion in the viewer. I don't want to have to work too hard to appreciate art or to try and figure out what the artist was trying to get across.
I don't buy art, so I have no idea if $250,000 is a reasonable price. It will be difficult to store and display unless you have a private gallery.
