Default Griffiths 911 Oil Cooler Lines Now Available!

Rennlisters! The perfect oil lines for your Porsche.

Oil Temperature

Your engine oil temperature can easily reach 244F or higher on a warm day, while idling in traffic or under hard driving conditions; your oil cooler located in the RH front fender has a thermostat that turns on its single cooling fan at approximately 244F. However, the current “OEM German” oil lines being marketed are only rated to 230F based on the type of rubber compound they use. Griffiths’ Kuehl brand hoses are rated to 300F continuous operation!

Weight

If you are vehicle weight consciousness, you know that for every pound you can take off your car you can increase your acceleration as well as improve MPG. Griffiths’ Kuehl brand hoses are 25% lighter than the “OEM German” oil lines being marketed today!

Design

- Griffiths’ Kuehl brand hoses utilize “flared” ferrule end reduces the chances of the ferrule cutting through tube section, whereas the “OEM German” design uses a rigid straight end ferrule which can lead to scoring or cutting in the rubber section of the hose where it enters the ferrule.
- Griffiths’ Kuehl brand tube construction is more flexible and durable than the common OEM German rubber, internal steel wire and fabric construction.

Fitment

- '74-'89 911
- '89 911 Turbo

Well they went in great, are just the right length (at first I thought the were slightly too short, but they are not), and the hold oil! Build quality seems great. I cannot speak to how well they hold her heat Etc..as it is January. Good stuff though, and great peace of mind for me.

Here in Florida in the summer I regularly see 250 degree oil temps, and my old lines were leaking ever so slightly.....which is why I replaced them with these. Now I just have toe track down that infamous (and hard to find) Nason oil cooler fan thermoswitch that is a direct replacement for the stock on...but has a cooler temp.

Do you draw the yellow lines to know if they are loose?

Two reasons depending on the fastener or fitting. Reminds me of what i torqued / tightened already and as a witness mark to let you know if something is loosening during visual inspections. I work with heavy machinery for a living so its just a habit now.
