Anyone know the name, author or publisher of a good reference book for researching VINs, engine numbers, quantity built, etc., for air cooled Porsches? Thx, Bob

This is Paternie's book which is a must have Porsche reference book:

Original Porsche 911 by Peter Morgan is another good one. This one looks like it may be out of print at the present time.
