For the Targa owners - Door window to top side seal fit
When the doors shut both windows are both below and above the top's side seals. That is the front 2/3s of the window slips below the seal as it probably should but the back 1/3 is outside of the seal. The rear vertical section of the glass floats about 1/8 above the targa band seal. I can look between the glass and seal.
The top was recently refurbished and the old side seals replaced. Are the targa top side seals adjustable?
It looks like the seals extend too low.
The car is a 1984.
Thanks,
Reg

When I had my top refinished (actually replaced, because a PO had put a 964 targa top on a 911 - which is a slightly different fit), I ended up adjusting the window to fine-tune the fit. It isn't a hard job if you follow Bentley's.

Everything is adjustable, that is both good and bad. Yes the side seals can go in or out by loosening the screws buried in the rubber, not much adjustment though. The window and frame also have up down in out and angle adjustments.

Thanks RS but I don't speak German. I'll look at the seal adjustment then door and window.
I just had Dan at Carsinc perform a full restoration. I sent him pictures of what things look like. He had no concerns. But it appears we all agree that things are not correct.
