Lower rpm hesitation
86 Carrera / 385,000 km
If I push the gas pedal to the floor from 1,000 to 3,000 rpm it misses a couple of times, but does slowly accelerate. I just tuned up my Air Flow Meter hoping that would help, but it didn't. Overall the cars feels like it is missing the "pop" it used to have.
New wire, plugs, rotor cap.
Gets much worse in the rain.
Any ideas Gents?
Thanks
Rod

I had a hangup around 3K RPM and it was a bad fuel injector...

id get a timing light on it and have a look , see if the advance and retard are workingin spec. Does it only do it under load ? could it be a coil also ?

Has this been chronic or just happened? If just, possibly bad gas? I had same symptoms and gas was the culprit!

Sorry, missed the rain comment, that negates the gas! You have A LOT of miles on that engine. When was last rebuild, assuming you had one.

The engine has never been rebuilt and runs fine with like cars at the track.
Or maybe I just don't use the brakes
BTW It's Km

With this kind of mileage I have no problem throwing new parts at it.
Because of the rain issue I think it has to me exposed electrical parts.

That is likely your culprit. My wires were crumbling at about the same mileage. Rusnak sent me an extra set he had. Lot's of guys use the 944 sensors.

This one?
It looks pretty happy, but I'll take it off and shine it up a bit.

Also Rod check to make sure you have the two wire updated head temp sensor. If it is the old single wire one then treat yourself.
Doesn't hurt to replace even part of pm.
