It's a nice looking car and will certainly turn heads. I'm too much of a Porsche purest to find it anything more than a novelty. It's one of those cars you're always going to have to explain its very being. Great cars need no explanation.
I don't know about having to explain it's very being. The geranl public doesn't know diddly about these cars. And even to a Porsche guy at Cars n Coffee it will just pass as another IROC rep. The seller has taken steps to hide what I mentioned by providing very few pictures that would reveal what they've done. With the carpet down and bumpers on the car most would assume this car was born a middie and not a long nose.
It's not worth the ask. But at 40k someone could drive a nice light, solidly powered, g50 shifting hot rod. It's not to the standard the builder claims, but I bet it's a fun as hell car to flog. Buying it to flog would be the only purpose. This car is no longer a '72 in anything but vin and weight.
RSR ?? Looks like someone welded on some turbo flairs and slapped on a couple of fiberglass bumpers. An engine transplant doesn't give it a G50 trans. I didnt bother to look close enough to see if they did the heavy lifting to swap in the g50. For that kind of money there are plenty of better cars out there.
