Changing tranny fluid
Wayne's manual says the 915 needs a 17mm hex key to remove the drain and fill plugs. The G50 has a 19mm socket.. So what is this?
G50 transmission...
Also, looking for the fill plug is it that gold thing to the top left (see image below)? Doeesn't look like a 19mm socket size to me either...
Looking for the fill plug... this is so much easier on my Jeep.

is that a 10mm hex key socket? The book says 19mm socket but I've seen some forums that say 10mm is the correct size. I'll get under there eventually and try all sorts of size sockets to see what will work...

Drain and fill plug for the G50 are indeed 10mm hex sockets. The fill plug is the gold spot in the upper left. You can see a metal plate just above (it is actually in front of the fill plug by about 3 inches.
The problem is the fill plug is blocked by that metal plate and cable so the wrench with 10mm hex socket won't fit in between. How do you loosen and remove the drain plug? Remove the plate first? Use an extension? What depth or style 10mm hex do you use (mine is a craftsman off the shelf from sears)?
Do Germans use tiny tools or something?
