Default help identifying Porsche 911

Hi everyone, been wanting a 911 for the past 10 year but never got around to picking one up until now. got the car at a action so cant ask the pervious owner question but maybe someone can recognize it? all i know at this time is its a 1974 911 Targa with a nice V8 conversion. had to fix some suspension pieces and will be pulling the transmission and engine out to check the clutch because coming out of first gear the car judders like crazy so dont know if it had a high performance clutch or its going bad. hopefully someone can help. thanks!

Poor thing. Hope you plan to return it to it's former glory....as in before it was cursed with the watercooled boat anchor.

Car looks fine, but the motor and tranny need to go. Put the period engine back in it.

I seen this car at copart in california, I was going to bid on it but the v8 conversion put me off. How much did you get it for? Congrats by the way.

Personally, I like the V8 conversions if done right. It looks like an LT so an LS would be a good upgrade. Reliability and economy minded.

Post some pics of inside the trunk so I can see the quality of the radiator install.

Good luck with it.

The heart and soul of a 911 is the engine in my mind. Without it its just an " also ran"

But that said whatever turns your crank. I would check a Chevy forum for your drive train issues

I put a 2.7 in my 1976 Corvette and it runs like a champ...

Now I can tell chicks I drive a Porsh, and a 'Vette and I save $600 a year in inshurance...
