First Post, First Question
After a 40 year absence from 911 ownership, I've decided to re-enter the fray. Can't even say it's a mid-life crisis as I'm past mid-life, chronologically at least.
I've located a couple interesting 911's in the 1988-1989 range located in the Miami FL area. What I need is someone (a knowledgeable someone) to inspect them. I can Google a hundred vehicle inspectors in Miami, but I want someone that knows 911's in my year range and comes with recommendations from owners here. I will pay whatever the going rate is. Doesn't necessarily have to be a "certified" inspector but I would expect it to be thorough, to include a compression test if the seller will allow it, with his findings in writing.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Three Wheelin'
You may be able to get a fellow Rennlister in the area to do a "drive by" for a high level inspection. This person could tell you if it is worth further investigation. Next would need an expert on air-cooled cars for a PPI. I am sure people in the area can tell you which shop(s)/person to use. Good Luck.

Thank you. I did contact Pedro Bonilla in Miami and while he leans toward water cooled 911s, he did give me a recommendation. Unfortunately, the one 911 I was particularly interested in was sold, or at least has a deposit on it.
The search continues.

Yes, I am well aware of the air conditioning that doesn't. The one car I was very interested in had a Retro Air installation that the owner said cost him well over $2000 and worked as good as any modern system. But I do appreciate the advice.
