Raising the Convertible Top

Raising the Convertible Top
Hello all
I removed the bolts and can lower the convertible top manually (which I like better than the slow motor.) However, I can not get it to fully extend up and lock when I want to put the top up again. Am I able to raise it manually and push the dash botton to lock the convertible top? Any suggestions I can do? Thanks.

yes you can raise and lower it manually but best to bolt it in again to open/lock the top. There is an actuator behind the panel on the passenger side of the rear seat and I think that will not be engaged if the bolt is too loose.
Also make sure the pins on the top are lined up perfectly, car is in neutral, key is in position 1, not on a hill, top is bolted in, button is pressed and you are sitting in the driver seat.
This last one is important, if you lean over to the passenger side to pull the roof down, your seat can register that you are no longer sitting and it will not engage.
good luck
