HELP, Emergency!!
Hi guys,
I just bought my first air-cooled, a Mexico blue '78 SC with a '85 3.2 swap. (It's my 2nd 911 total as I also have a 996tt). I'm attempting to drive it back from Maryland to the Florida panhandle. All was going well until dark when I discovered I had no headlights. I am in western Maryland now stopped for the night. But I need to get the headlight issue sorted in the morning as I still have ~15 hours of driving left. Was wondering if there are any porsche experts or helpful forum members in the western side of Maryland, Virginia, or North Carolina (basically anyone along I-80 or I-77)

Try and contact the local PCA chapter president and they will be able to help you find a shop.

Same thing happened to me. Try wiggling your signal/high beam stalk. My switch was bad. I found I only had high beams, but that got me home.
Good luck

Fuse or headlight switch. Mine failed when we were in Island Park Idaho on vacation of all places. Went online to Pelican Parts and had a new one sent overnight and it took 10-minutes to R&R.

Consider yourself lucky if that is your only problem... Far from an emergency, more like an inconvenience. Push come to shove Just drive during day light hours and fix it when you make it home. A local porsche dealer could fix it in a pinch if it were really necessary, but I wouldn't sweat that until I got home. Good luck.
