Default Leather Door Panel Lifting - Fix

I am a freak when it comes to my 911 CSC. The leather door trim was coming up on the end and everytime I opened my door, I would see it and almost pass out.

After studying which glue to use and reading about weldwood and the others, I found Gorilla Glue Gel to adhear and actually fix my girl. The gel works best with leather, nylon, and plastic.

A Porsche certified shop wanted 717.00 to fix both doors. No. I found Gorilla Glue Gel, applied a 10 lb. weight on it for a couple hours, and can't be more happy. The gel worked. It has been a month, maybe it won't hold for a year, but we will see.

Please see pics...

A few said they didn't notice it. Jesus!

Post fix.

Gorilla Glue Gel - $3.68

Embarrassing. Fixed.

Make sure you apply pressure for hours, not 30 secs.

the Rig.

Good job. I don't know how you look after your leather and make no assumptions.
Real leather needs good quality conditioner applied at least 6 monthly. ( I use Hide Food)
If not the leather will shrink and pull the trim up. This was common on leather covered dash's in the 80's.
FYI.

P.S. You should be in the water cooled forum. Post there I'm sure they'll appreciate your fix.

Default Thank you and sorry about that.

You're absolutely right. I forgot to mention, I have been using Griots and the leather is noticeably softer.

I wish I could re-thread this ............

Default Glue

I’m having the same issue with my newly purchased 991 Carrara s. Could I ask you where exactly did you place the glue drops? Under the leather covered trim along the whole window or just specific spots underneath?
thanks
