I hope you're ok? Try to save to engine and gearbox and find a donor?

I've got bruises and bumps and sprains. I thank God and Porsche engineers and technicians. That's the hardest lick I've taken since football.

Glad you're ok - so sorry to see, my stomach is in knots looking at it. These cars aren't just pieces of metal... they become a part of us.

Make sure insurance pays out the money you've put into it recently on top of the value of the car. Ideally you can buy it back and use parts of it in the next one to keep her living on.

Glad to hear that you are ok. I took a lick like that ( very similar) in a 1974 Fiat X1/9. Had to climb out of the roof panel to get out. Your Targa was a beautiful car and an awesome color combo. Really sorry to see this happen. Good luck with the insurance company and get ready for a fight. It will be worth it.

I hate to say it, but I have already called a lawyer. I can barely walk today.

Other driver was out-of-state, expired drivers license, not his car, didn't speak English, tried to gun it across a 8 lane highway.

Crap. You and I were thinking the same thing. Ya, she's at her new home. Still gotta pin Brian down about all the loose ends. I think I'm heading out there tomorrow.

Ouch :-(

Glad you survived; the poor Targa did it's job protecting you.

I am very lucky. "Bwunhilde" saved me for sure.

This was my track car. I've always felt kind of bad about turning her into one, but she ran great there, considering her age, driving her on the track was a hoot, I learned enough driving her to go from Green to Blue Solo, and it seems like the track may be a safer place than the street.

But, if I rebuild her with a donor, I'm not sure that I should make her a track car again. What do you other air-cooled guys think?

If it is a 915 car, then use the powertrain for a backdate project!
