Default Need transmission help (915) tranny

Hi everyone, and thank you in advance

Picked up an 82 911 with a "rebuilt" 915 tranny

unloaded it off the truck

while doing that noticed a clear greasy fluid underneeth dripping out
and dripping while driving. I was think hydrolic fluid- its deff not oil.

So 1 drove about 1 block car will not go in gear, I press the clutch put in gear but its not grabbing, i also hear a slight chatter after doing this and putting the car in neutral and not pressing the clutch then it goes away

main thing is the leak, then it not grabbing, theres no grinding.

Any ideas?

Your clutch isn't hydraulic it's mechanical. The only fluid not motor oil in the rear is tranny fluid.
You need to check that out as I don't see many leaking tranny issues posted.

It could be a few things...could be the clutch fork gave way so the clutch is not being properly/fully engaged. Or it could be totally out of adjustment with a stretched cable.

Do you have a Service Manual so you can kind of bone up on the system?

issue wasent tranny/clutch- but a broken CV joint on the limited slip. no wonder it wasnt moving.

If it has an LSD and won't drive with a broken cv then your LSD is shagged and needs to be rebuilt.
