How to identify all models of Porsche 911?

Get a book say 50 years of the 911 ,,,have a good read and learn the full history and fundamental changes of the iconic car from it,s birth in 63 as the 901 to it current incarnation the 991 ,,,,I would think that would be your best way of identify the models and their changes over the years
