Default Finally bought one...

Hey all,

I've been lurking around the forums for quite a while, but just now jumped in a bought an air cooled.

I bought a 2004 Boxster S Anniversary edition back in January and liked the local Houston club so much that I ended up going all in and buying a 1987 3.2.

I'm reading through tons of posts right now and getting familiar with the car. I'm offshore working, so its a great time for reading. Once I get home, watch out! I've got lots of good plans for tune up and cleaning.

The car is in great shape. As far as I can tell the only things that need help are the windshield washer pump, floor mats and spark plug wires. I'm also hunting for someone that might want to trade engine deck lids. Someone put a turbo deck lid and tail on the car. I don't really love the whale tail. I would really like to trade for a plain lid or maybe a duck tail.

The bonus is that the wife loves the car!

Jason

nice ..
Glad more and more people are deciding to take the turbo tail back off the narrow body car . I think the Carrera/ duck / no tail looks are great on that car ... enjoy and dont forget to search the "porsche 101" thread.

Yep it's a flash one alright.
You know at full speed those turbe tails reduce lift by approximately 300 lb?

But no one ever drives fast enough for it to be an issue.......

I have a targa and agree the tail looks foolish on the targa. So few factory targas came with tails it looks molested. The real issue with me is the targa body lines don't work well with the whale tail.

Happy wife, happy life. I am still looking for that elusive 3.2 and like you not a fan of whale tail. Seen a few nice ones with an original spec (whale tail) so my plan was to change lids and keep it in storage so as to preserve its originality for resale.
