So i just got my hands on a 1972 911.
Well haven't picked it up yet. But it is paid for.
Anyway from what i am told it is a numbers matching car. Came from Europe (didn't they all?) so the zenith carbs are original. The slant nose kit is fiberglass and was done in Germany. The car has approx 125,000 km's.
So, what do i do?
1) Restore it back to a narrow body 1972 911 full restoration?
2) Turn it into a rat rod? Twin plug 2.9L street killer?
3) RS or R replica? (Already done this on an earlier 911)
4) Keep it as is, clean it up and sell. Buy a 356? or Cayman S?

clean it up and quick flip it.

If you are stuck with it, bring it back to original body and hot rod it.

The front pan was just replaced. And the alternator rebuild, carbs tuned etc...
This bill was $3500. Still has a hesitation and will need a new fuel pump. Other than that it feels like a 130hp car. (not enough). Other than the front pan the rest of the car is very solid.

Flip it unless you got it really cheap. In which case it may be worth building a R style hot rod. I don't know that you could recoup the cost of a return-to-stock restoration unless you do the work yourself.

I think I got a good price. What do you think it's worth?
I can do all the work myself. I guess bringing it back to original would cost a fair amount. But looking at prices it might be worth it.

Id say it was listed for 15-19k, and you probably got it for $10-12k?

I would like to think you got it for $8k cdn....

I'd sell all the plastic stuff off it and then restore it to original, or as close to, as money permits.

Yeah no idea what color it started at. Yet!

I've seen red and black when looking deeper. I'm sure I will find an original body part somewhere that will give me clues.

I have to find time to go pick it up and bring her home. I'm planning on doing most of the work myself. I like body work but I suck at painting. Sanding is my therapy.

I'm not sure you can use the term "Crack-Wh*re" on Rl, but I believe the more genteel term used in Victorian England was "Fallen Angel".

I believe what you have here is ...ahem... a Fallen Angel.

Option 1: Buy her a hot meal, give her $100, and a bus ticket back to her godforsaken home town.

Option 2: Fall in love, marry her, and live a life of poverty, recrimination, and misery.

I would say flip it unless you really like restoration projects. There's a difference between having the capability and having the motivation. Could be a fun project.
