Advice on paint and trim
I've decided to have my '79 911SC resprayed.
The color is 'Champagne Beige Metallic' (gold) with factory 'Black Out' trim option. This trim appears to be anodized (black).
Since these pieces are going to be removed, I thought of refinishing them as well.
The shop says they will paint them, or help me find an someone to anodize them.
Question is, I wonder if I shouldn't simply leave them as they are (faded lighter in some areas than others). I'm not looking for a restoration or concurs car.
I just want it to look right. Maybe leaving it as-is will help it to show it's age gracefully.
Any thoughts are truly appreciated. Thanks.

Anodizing may be problematic as the finish can look inconsistent. I had a 928 several years ago that underwent a windows-out re-spray and faced the same dilemma on trim.
After many arguments with the shop owner (a good friend), we decided to to paint. He used a matte etching primer then finished with a matte clearcoat. It turned out looking like new and was very durable.
If you are not trying to achieve concours status, then this is probably the best route.
