Considering selling 993 for 3.2 G50
I absolutely love my 96 C2 but can't stop lusting for a 3.2 coupe (87-89) since driving one almost a year ago. Two reasons, I love the classic styling and the more mechanical feel. I've had my 993 almost two years and put 8,000 miles on it (currently 52,000). It's pretty much a daily driver and needs nothing. 100% stock except for PSS10s which I added.
Can't have both so hence my dilemma. I live in Houston so A/C is an issue.
I've yet to find the right 3.2 but don't know what to do if I come across one. I know I've missed the boat in terms of pricing. Already posted on the 993 forum but thought I'd get both perspectives. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

First, I'm going to tell on you on the 993 board I understand your dilemma and there is no wrong choice. And for the A/C Griffith will solve your problem

i purchased an 84 coupe (915 trans) with 74K on ODO and daily drove it to work (5 miles each way) daily from November until April. I put about 7k miles on the car during this time.
I live in Pittsburgh and drove it in 6" snow (with cookie cutter wheels and blizzaks; fuchs went into the garage for winter). Drove it on business trips to Philly, Richmond, Indy and NYC...including one trip for over 4 hours where the ambient temp was negative 15 to negative 20 degrees!
I put a ski rack on it and took it to the mountain every weekend with a 9 year old and 7 year old in the back seats.
these cars can be daily driven! heater worked great. the reason I took it out of DD service was the fear of the SUMMER weather and the heat (a/c being the weaker point on these cars). I still have it, but use it as a weekend toy.
I had a 58k mileage 964 (1993 my) and although very fast, not nearly as rewarding as the 3.2. I've driven several other 993 models. I had the luxury of driving a 997.1 gt3 for a few hours last Summer and feel the 3.2 and the GT3 have similar "feel"...aside from HP! Lol
as for the 915 trans; I originally was afraid based on always seeing G50 advertised as a "plus factor" - but after about 30 days on the 915 you learn it and actually come to appreciate the finesse in the wrist required and the throttle modulation...kind of makes it like a fine art.
great car.

For what it's worth:
I owned an 86 3.2 and got all caught up in a new 997. While I loved the 997 I wish I had never given up on the 86. It was so much more entertaining to drive. To me, that is the real Porsche driving experience.

Ever since I bought my '87- 911, I have wanted a 993. We ended up buying a '69- 912 for my wife. I still want a 993, but have all the cars I can handle now. I think I will always want a 993, but have learned to appreciate what I have.
I feel Dukerdog's pain.

A well sorted mid-80's car can be a great daily driver. My '86 targa, with recently refreshed transmission, working cruise control and air-conditioning, recent alignment/tires/shocks, drivies like a dream on my daily 50 mile round trip commute. The 915, by the way, shifts very nicely.
