Default A bit of an update

Just before Christmas someone, I think Musburger, mentioned Einmalig ( http://www.einmaligparts.com/ ) and all the sudden my project took a crazy change in direction.

I've been doing sort of an R/RS/CS backdate. Bumperette delete, '69 911R tail lights, ducktail, and the like have been the recent endeavors.

Now, with my new BFF's at Einmalig I've jumped to replacing all the bright work on the engine. Fuel rails that are something like $440 each at the dealer can be swapped out for $20 each with parts already plated in yellow zinc.

Would you believe that everything on the table except the flapper boxes, heater tubes, motor mounts, injectors (cleaned and flow tested within 2%), fan belt, and a couple bags of bolts were all had for $80.00? I about fell over when Brian gave me the price. I had $500 in cash on me and thought it was gonna take it all. I did spend another $144.00 on the motor mounts, belt, tubes, and some extra nuts and bolts that are priced on par with other retailers but I still felt like I had stolen the store.

Now I just have to put it all on.

.....and the engine pictures are my BEFORE pictures. I'll get some AFTER pictures up before close of business Sunday.

Fuel rails, half the hose clamps, ICV/bracket, and the motor mounts are in.

Fan strap is a pain in the ****.

Thanks guys. Had to run ti Ace Hardware to get a bolt long enough to draw down the fan strap. Otherwise rather uneventful.

Won't be doing the gold tooth. Wish I'd have known about this when I had the brakes apart. I'd have swapped out the backers and bolts.

I hope you are sitting down. We sent about $1,500 US and we did complete the house. Believe it or not something very unbelievable happened along the way. Turns out the mother already had the door, the window, 6 sheets of corrugated tin, and 2 sheets of ply for the floor. Well guess what??? Roger pocketed about $300 US I have since gotten the mother's phone number and discovered that little issue. I sent her $250 a couple days before Christmas and told her to have a ball as long as it went to food and clothing.

At least some good news has come along. The mother has gotten a job and has built bedroom walls. She is beyond thrilled. At first I wasn't going to tell her where the money came from, but she said Roger wanted in her pants for all he had done and that it was time for her to pay the money back to him. I lost it and had to come clean with her. She hasn't stopped thanking us. Will tell more later.

Yes, I will post pictures. The girls don't stop talking about their new house. Mom says they tell everyone they have a great big house. I told her that when she builds a room addition I want to buy a toilet. She said it will happen by the end of February.

It's a 3,2L. How hard could it be?

But, just in case, I took pictures and employed some very detailed note taking.

Can I post the pictures of what you've been up to?

Ed, what size cone filter did you run on Ruby? Was it the K&N with the 3" opening or the 4" opening? I've given up on trying to fit the 4" and just went back to Pep Boys and got the 3". Seems to fit perfectly. Also, the breather hose from the oil tank. I'm thinking of tapping into the air filter up at the cone tip. Does that sound familiar?

Good point!

I've got no secrets in any of the pics....

I think it was 4"-I got the adapter years ago from Evo. It had a nipple for the breather.
