Nice work wachuko!! I would go with brushed engine Bar. Looks so badass. Black looks to close to factory, so if you are trying to 'hide' it than that's also a good option! My personal preference is brushed look. That with the fan strap looks fantastic. So I would say match whatever your fan strap is - that always makes a good look!

I am redoing the engine tins again...and the fan housing, fan, and shroud.... Thinking about painting the shroud and fan in body color and engine tins and fan housing in black. Brushed cross bar and strap would look great with that.

Well... once again I got shipped the wrong rear calipers... received 996 parts instead of 986... Vendor is sending correct ones in the next few days and picking up the ones I have here...

I ordered some PORSCHE caliper decals. Now need to decide what color I paint the calipers... inclined to paint them black. I have caliper paint in Silver, Black, and Red.... I was going to go initially with Red, but not sure now. I know it is a trivial issue...

Weekend was all about quality time with the family... so could not get to the garage...

Only update is from today. Move the clock with the Heuer face to the RSR...

Got the new face and installed it on the other clock. This is the clock that will go in this RS project instead...

Installed the dash today... It will be fun trying to get a photo that shows the actual color...man!









And I had to try these, even if I know they have to be removed for the buffing/polishing





And the bumpers are not painted because Alejandro wanted the lights with the lense to double check fitment... Engine bay and bumpers to be painted this weekend if everything goes well.





Now to get ready for another work related trip...

I need it to get it out of the living room... so I just put it on the engine... just a few bolts to hold it in place... I will take better photos later and then once it is installed correctly.

Front corner lights came in. The ones that came with the car are beyond repair. Same goes for the rear tail lights... looking to see if I can fix those with some donor units from a fellow forum member (thank you amber lamps! )



Installed the clear lenses (forgot to buy the yellow light bulb to replace the clear one... will do that later)



Nuts for the door handles



A few more photos of the engine and exhaust... I am ordering a few Rennline pieces for the engine to dress it up a bit...

Wow - love that shifter boot! That exhaust is also a thing of beauty - got my RarlyL8 setup coming next week! Currently battling exhaust studs... going to be doing some drilling... how did you find yours?

These came in from GT Racing. Billet aluminum door handles. Thinking of getting them powder coated black. Got two sets, one for the RS and one for the RSR. The ones in the RSR will stay without powder coating.

No luck finding used 986 rear brake calipers... rear set ordered from Sunset Porsche as well as both side mirrors.
