Lightbulb 80s 911 interior modifications

Just wondering if anyone has done any interior modifications to their 1980s 911. Just looking for non-track related modifications. ie. center console, seats, steering wheel or anything else that might make it a bit more comfortable for a cross country trip. (USA) The more pics the better

I sorta did the opposite...removed the console, stock door panels, rear seats, radio (since this pic was taken) and installed a MOMO Prototipo wheel.

Removing the (IMO) useless console increases lateral legroom and the much lighter Recaro SE seats are actually way more comfy than the stock highbacks were.

Looks great! What about the fan/AC (if applicable) controls on the centre console?

The A/C was deleted. It was less than marginal even when it worked, plus the car is no longer a daily driver.

Had I kept the A/C it I would have fabricated a switch mount and installed the switches where the ashtray is since I'm not a smoker. I never cared for the console as I was always banging my right lower leg on it.

Thanks for the kind words. The flash makes the interior color appear a lot lighter than it is. I'm not thrilled with the seat recovering job my upholstery guy did, though. Next years' projects include having the front seats reupholstered properly (by a different shop) with better materials and blue/black houndstooth inserts.

Well, seriously-what kind of "comfort" is being sought out? A console with cup holders? Stock Porsche seats are hard to beat-but I loved my Recaro Profi SPG shell, even with two fused discs-but that was a track mod. I also felt comfortable when I was snug as a bug in a rug in the harness.

Boxster...that's just not nice...
Ed, .I'm not a track guy...at least not in this car at this time...I am looking to add a few creature comforts. I'm not sure exactly what at this point just looking for inspiration. I like the idea of adding a 993ish center console i found here also considering a new stereo system that can also be a GPS...perhaps something powered by android. A cup holder would be a consideration...just not sure at this time.

My 87 3.2 is great just the way it is and I have had it for about 15 yrs...just looking to change it up a bit.

BTW...Jack your interior looks great...nice and clean.
