Default Replacing Boge shocks with bilstein shocks in my 89 911

I am in the middle of changing my Boge Shock with bilsteins. I have put the shocks in but am confused about about wether or not to put the bump stop on that were on the boge's and if so, the order, or not put anything on at all? Does anyone know if there is a diagram I can follow? Also a little tiny rubber washer that came with the bilsteins, were does it go?

Sorry one more question I am reading conflicting post regarding oil in the housing as a cooling agent, Do the bilsteins inserts need oil?

I replaced mine a couple of months ago. The boge bump stop was too large. I used the rubber washer that came with the bilsteins in it's place. I think the stiffer gas shock is less likely to bottom out hence the smaller rubber washer.

The washer that comes with the bilstein is very small and I can't imagine it doing much. Some people have said they throw it away!

Hey did you have that stupid metal spacer in your car ? it was put in because of the US bumper height specs and because i guess it was lifted they put that spacer in there to compress the shock a little so it was still in the optimal range. You take it out if your car is lowered. Looks like your car is lowered so it may be gone already.
Anyway hope the instal is going well. Pretty easy huh !

The Bistein front insert's bump stop is internal. That little rubber washer is meant to keep the dust cap and strut from faying in shipment, it should be discarded.

back shocks are easy .. definitely get a gear wrench for the top though.. cant remember the size ..maybe 15mm. you can only get little bites at a time... maybe hire a 10 year old kid that can get his arm in there. did you go with hd or sports ?
