Default Fuchs - Euromeister or Factory?

I am looking at a set of factory 8x16s for the rear of my Carrera. I'm going to put my factory 7s on the front. The 8s will need to be refinished, but are guaranteed true and hold air. For the same price I am looking at spending on the originals, I can get a set of new tires and Euromeister 16x 7 and x8 replicas.

So, my question. What's the smartest move? Original or replica? I'm not tracking the car, but it does see a lot of highway driving. And with gas prices going up, my 911 is going to be seeing more and more road time as my other vehicle is a diesel F250.

Opinions?

I would get the replica 8s or even better - replica 9s. Cheap tires (say Fuzion) and save your cash. I like my original Fuchs 9s because it's like Porsche bling, but they are stupidly overpriced. I drove the 911 to Sacto, on business last week. I had a blast, and averaged around high 20s to low 30s mpg.

I've used euromeisters for years, even on a track (and occasionally off), with no problems at all. Factory Fuchs are obviously better wheels, but hardly worth the price differential if they're just going on a street-only car.

I would go the original route.

Go with the replicas, and the keep your original Fuch around. Having two sets of wheels is never a bad thing.

Thanks for the comments.

I had pretty much decided on the replicas till I found out you can't get the 8s or 9s right now. I found a guy with a '78 930 who's willing to part with his factory 7s and 8s. I'm working on the deal now. Will keep you posted!
