Default 911 carrera 3.2 1989 - 200 K miles

I am going to buy a 911 Carrera 911 3.2 special edition 25 th anniversary from 1989 with 200K miles, the engines was rebuilt (top end) and has only 300 Miles, new clutch, new brackes and new tires. The car looks great and drives good.
What do you think ? Any advises are welcome.
Thanks

just make sure you get an independent porsche expert to give it a good going over, I thought I found a couple of winners and the inspections revealed they were to be run away from, fast.

The 25th anniversary is a cool car, I think they're all blue right? sweet car if it checks out, the milage is very high though.

JMHO but $18000 is on the high side for an 89 with 200,000 on the clock. Should have a full engine rebuild, suspension all rebuilt and all the service history to bring that money. PPI at a reputable shop is necessary. The 25th anniversary came in silver and a small number in black.

Thans for yours advises.
For the same price I can find cars with less miles (~100K) but on this one, they already did the work on the engine, on the brakes and on the clutch. Another questions where can I find an independent PPI for wooldand Hills (CA, 91367)

Sounds like a really nice car, especially if a competent shop did the engine. I don;t think the price is high. there is one advertised on PCA for $35,800 it has 35K miles on it I believe. Anyway, if you like the car and it checks out I would GRAB IT

For that money you should check it out. Give them a deposit if you are serious. If they are upstanding, they will be happy to let you PPI. My only misgiving is that I like to really run a new engine before I call it good. 300 is a bare minimum, but enough I guess.

Only snap it up if you can cough up for the unexpected. No offense to anyone, but there can be a painful side to Porsche ownership. Some of us have been had, or let our hearts run away with our heads. Hope this pans out for you.

Aren't you thinking of the 30th anniversary that was a 964 C4 Widebody, they were silver or black?

I've seen a 25th, they are all blue inside and out with a plaque on the dash, sorry to nitpick.

Ice, your statement is incorrect...

The 1988 Celebration Edition car (sometimes called the Signature Edition) was the 911 that had Ferry's signature embroidered in the leather seats. This option code/model signified the 250,000th 911 produced. It was produced only in Diamond Blue Metallic. Special carpets, wrinkled leather look on the seat and painted centers in body color on the 15" Fuchs were part of the option package.

The 1989 Silver Anniversary Edition was available in model year 1989 and that signified the 25th year of 911 production.

Colors of this Silver Anniversay Edition car were either in Silver Metallic or Satin Black Metallic. Options in this package were supple leather, painted wheel centers to match paint color, short shift, high intensity windshield washer, headlight washers, rear wiper on coupes, electric Cab top, cruise, spoilers, hi-fi sound, amplifier and sunroof.

The Porsche 911 Red Book is wrong and Peter Morgan's "Original Porsche 911" book is also incorrect. Both books seem to merge these models, however, they are two separate cars and model years.

AIC had a Silver Anniversary model for sale recently. Here it is: '89 Silver Anniversary

Hope this helps! (No offence Ice!!)

You are right, the car is a 1989 911 25th Silver Anniversary. It looks great. I am just scared by the mileage (20K0)...
