My 1989 911 Cabriolet top jammed a few weeks ago, so I loosened the 2 rear bolts so that I could manually get the top on. The front latches still work fine and I have been manually raising/lowering the top and only using power to latch and unlatch the top.

I tried raising the top and then re-tightening the bolts, the top would then only partially open before growling loudly and stopping. My Bently manual does not have any info on Cab Top adjustments and I searched here and have only found info on 993 top adjustments. Can anyone point me to a good reference on the earlier Cab electric tops (87-89's) or hints on adjusting it correctly.

long shot but have you figured this out? my cab has ends that dont match up. driver side is a little higher than the passenger side.
